Joanna Invests latest deal: investment in Touchwaves founded by Charlotte Kjellander

Amterdam / Eindhoven - 13 January 2026

Touchwaves develops next-generation haptic wearables that help people perform better under extreme stress. By combining smart textiles, biosensing and vibration-based breathing guidance, Touchwaves improves oxygen uptake, cognitive clarity and resilience in demanding environments such as defense, aviation and high-performance sports.

Touchwaves was founded by Charlotte Kjellander, who holds a PhD from TU Eindhoven and has deep expertise in wearable technology, smart textiles and human performance, developed in close collaboration with leading research institutes including TNO. The company is led together with Martin Romero, an experienced entrepreneur responsible for operations and business development.

Originally developed to support people with anxiety and stress, Touchwaves has expanded into mission-critical applications where urgency and adoption are highest. The technology is validated through pilots with defense and aviation partners, while maintaining a strong dual-use vision that includes sports, wellness and future healthcare applications.
